Creative's new XF1 PC speakers hit the sweet spot for me due to their value pricing, design, and sound performance. Measuring 7.5 inches tall, 6.1 inches deep, and 3.9 inches wide, these compact speakers won't take up much space on a desk. Available in matte black or white, they carry a sleek, understated design that gives off a mini-studio vibe.

Powered by a 3-inch woofer and a 3/4-inch tweeter, the XF1s have a frequency range of 55 hertz to 40 kilohertz. They come with an external power adapter and require a detachable cork stand for optimal sound. The speakers connect through a detachable speaker interconnect cable, a 3.5-millimeter line-in, a USB-C port, and a dedicated subwoofer output.

Bluetooth 6.0 enables wireless streaming from various devices. Tested with an iPhone 16 Pro and Google Pixel 9, as well as a HyperX Omen gaming desktop, the XF1s impressed with their bass-forward initial sound, warm and natural quality, and good detail. While they are slightly bass-heavy and lack some refinement compared to pricier models, they offer a rich, full sound with minimal distortion at higher volumes.

The speakers are ideal for near-field listening, delivering excellent value for money, and their sound quality improves with a wired connection. Creative's new Nexus app provides 10-band parametric EQ and over 120 EQ presets, allowing users to fine-tune the sound to their preferences across various music and game genres. Despite their small size, the XF1s manage to produce decent sound quality, making them a strong entry-level audiophile option.
