Google Pixel 11 Launches With Massive Camera Upgrades and Faster Chipset

Google has introduced the Pixel 11 as the newest member of its premium smartphone range, accompanied by the Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Details on the latter models will be addressed in future reports.

The Pixel 11 boasts a 6.3-inch Actua display with a luminosity of up to 3,000 nits. Maintaining a more compact design, the handset features a refined back and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The screen is a 1080p+ LTPS OLED panel akin to competitors from Samsung and Apple. The device is offered in four hues: Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio, and Obsidian.

The core hardware enhancement lies in Google's new Tensor G6 processor. This chip is specially designed to support the latest AI functionalities and offers up to 50% increased computing power compared to its predecessor. The Pixel 11 comes equipped with 12GB of RAM. The base storage capacity has been expanded to 256GB, up from 128GB on the prior model, with additional options of 512GB.

Google has implemented Zoned UFS storage in the Pixel 11, aiming to deliver quicker performance. The phone also includes Google's latest AI features and promises a seven-year lifespan for OS and security updates, alongside regular Pixel Drops.

Camera-wise, the Pixel 11 experiences a substantial upgrade. Its primary camera now utilizes a 48MP sensor with a 1/1.56-inch size, a step up from the smaller 1/2.0-inch sensor in the previous version. Supporting the main camera is a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. The third camera is a 10.8MP telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom, giving the standard Pixel 11 a dedicated zoom camera, unlike the iPhone 17 which only offers two main cameras.

Google claims a maximum Super Zoom capability of 30x with the Pixel 11. Additionally, the phone includes a 10.5MP front camera with autofocus and a 95-degree ultra-wide field of view, supporting 4K video recording.

Battery-wise, the Pixel 11 houses a 4,985 mAh battery and is capable of more than 30 hours of regular usage. Google has also improved the charging speed, with PixelSnap wireless charging being 25% faster than the previous generation. Wired charging can replenish the battery to 55% in approximately 30 minutes. The starting price for the basic Pixel 11 is $900 for the 12GB/256GB configuration, while the 512GB variant will cost $1020.
