To begin taking notes, users simply tap "Start taking notes" and ensure their device is nearby, similar to how they would use Pixel Recorder or another audio app.
Users can stop taking notes at any time or pause and then continue later on. Once the session ends, Google Meet generates a complete transcript, summary, and list of action items, saving everything to a Google Doc in the user's Drive. They will also receive a link to this document via email.
Currently, the feature supports a single language at launch, and Google recommends a maximum meeting length of 15 minutes. Google AI Pro or AI Ultra is required for this feature, which is available to consumers starting in late August for iOS. Google Meet for Android launched this feature first.
