Former England international and Marseille legend Chris Waddle shared his thoughts on the intensity of Marseille fans and the challenges the club faces in their quest for success. He recalled the language barrier and the intense heat upon his arrival, which made his early days in France a daunting experience.

Despite these challenges, Waddle found his time at Marseille to be one of the most memorable periods in his career, winning three consecutive titles and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

However, Waddle expressed concern about the club's current state, noting that the recent crisis and the departure of key players like Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have left the team uncertain about their future. He believes that challenging Paris Saint-Germain, the dominant force in French football, is an insurmountable task for Marseille, given the club's financial limitations.

Waddle highlighted the magnitude of the PSG's squad, pointing out that their continued success is fueled by a constant influx of top talent. For Marseille to even hope to compete with PSG, they would need to invest significantly in their squad, a feat that seems improbable at present.
