EFL board holds talks about Premier League's £1.5bn bid to avert watchdog's 'backstop' deal

Brentford will face Eintracht Frankfurt in their final pre-season match at the Gtech Community Stadium to prepare for the start of the Premier League next weekend. Frankfurt concluded their Bundesliga campaign as eighth-placed last season and, despite the departure of Dino Toppmöller and Albert Riera, reappointed Adi Hütter as their manager in May. They conceded the third most goals in the Bundesliga last season and will aim to improve defensively this year, particularly following Nathaniel Brown's transfer to Bayern Munich. Frankfurt has enjoyed an impressive pre-season, winning five consecutive games, including a 2-0 victory over Premier League newcomers Hull City.
