EAA Foundation, Ministry of Sports and Youth mark International Youth

Doha, Qatar witnessed the United Nations International Youth Day celebrated by the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation and the Ministry of Sports and Youth. The duo set up an interactive platform in Place Vendôme, Qatar, to engage young people in sharing their dreams, discovering opportunities, and building connections within a burgeoning youth network.

The event, themed "From Learning to Leading: Empowering Youth," underscored the mutual dedication of both entities towards empowering young individuals to actively participate in both national and global development. The celebration ran from the 8th to the 16th of August 2026, and was designed to illustrate the various stages of youth empowerment, from education and skill acquisition to advocacy, volunteering, employment prospects and leadership roles.

Each interactive exhibit at the activation provided visitors with a direct insight into the experiences, viewpoints, and priorities of young Qatari citizens. Alya Fakhroo, Head of Advocacy at the EAA Foundation, emphasized the importance of moving beyond classroom learning, stating that "young people need the confidence, platforms and pathways to transform learning into leadership and opportunity into agency."

Fawaz Al Messaifri, Director of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, stated, "This event underscores the significance of national collaborations in creating interactive environments that place young people at the forefront, empowering them to articulate their aspirations and explore opportunities in various spheres like education, professional growth, volunteering, and community involvement."

Rashid Al Naimi, Head of the Youth Development and Empowerment Section at the Ministry of Sports and Youth, added, "This event emphasizes the shift from 'working for young people' to 'working with young people,' providing them with a platform to express their viewpoints, priorities, and to actively partake in shaping solutions and initiatives that address their needs and ambitions."
