Drop test claims Pixel 11 Pro, specifically the smaller one, could break more easily

Google has recently unveiled the Pixel 11 Pro smartphones, which boast enhanced scratch resistance according to the company. However, according to a recent EU testing by the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL), the smaller Pixel 11 Pro model appears to be more susceptible to damage from drops and falls. The EPREL labels for new smartphones assess various factors, including battery capacity, battery life, dust/water resistance, repairability, and the number of drops a phone can withstand without sustaining defects.

The Pixel 11 series as a whole received an overall rating of "B," which is unchanged from the previous year. Nevertheless, the "Repeated free fall reliability test" revealed that the Pixel 11 Pro XL, Fold, and the base model all attained an "A" rating, similar to last year’s lineup. The smaller Pixel 11 Pro, however, lagged significantly behind the pack.

This discrepancy is quite surprising, especially considering the Pixel 10 Pro achieved the same "A" rating and 270 drops the previous year, as per the EPREL. It is possible that there might be a testing error, but it is also conceivable that there could be an inherent change in the durability of this year’s Pixel 11 Pro.
