CMO's Promise: All Encroachments Would Be Removed After August 15 In Jobat

Jobat in Madhya Pradesh is grappling with safety concerns following the encroachment of temporary shops on a recently reconstructed bridge. These shops, occupying the footpath, pose risks, particularly for schoolchildren who traverse the area daily. The bridge, a crucial connection between the city and its rural environs, is utilized by institutions like the Government Girls Hostel, Gayatri Shaktipeeth, Anshul Vidya Mandir, and Maa Parvati Memorial School. Nearby, a clinic, police station, and other government facilities are nestled.

The Municipal Council has been collecting fines from the temporary shops, yet recent joint efforts by the local administration have not succeeded in fully clearing the footpath. This persistent obstruction has prompted dismay from the Shaktipeeth School principal, Ravikanta Verma, who implored the Municipal Council to adopt decisive action. He emphasized that the encroachments cause daily inconvenience to residents and students, and might precipitate accidents.

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Priya Mehda, has vowed that safety will not be compromised and pledged that all temporary encroachments on the bridge will be dismantled by August 15. Former BJP district president Rakesh Agarwal, apprised of the issue, pledged to liaise with the relevant officials to ensure the swift removal of the encroachments.
