Christy Knowings, Star Of Nickelodeon's All That, Dead At 46

Christy Knowings, the talented actress who became a beloved member of Nickelodeon's sketch comedy show All That from 1997 to 2000, passed away on August 11 at the age of 46, according to TMZ. The cause of her death was a severe asthma attack that resulted in brain damage, for which she had been receiving treatment in a Los Angeles hospital. Knowings was placed on life support until it was finally removed on the 11th. Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced her passing on Facebook the following day.

Knowings was praised for her versatility, excelling in singing, acting, and dancing. Her manager, Al Hill, described her as a dedicated professional who always strived to create something new. Knowings joined All That after appearing in the pilot of And Now This, a show produced by Rosie O'Donnell. During her tenure on the series, she played a variety of characters, such as news anchor Brenda Stone, homemaking host Gloria Bankhead, airline stewardess Nancy, and the vapid teenager Jessica.

Prior to her role on All That, Knowings made her TV debut in 1994 with a guest appearance on the Fox police drama New York Undercover. She also appeared in three episodes of Sesame Street and released a folk single titled To the World in December 2020.

The loss of Knowings was mourned by her colleagues in the entertainment industry. Kenan Thompson, an SNL star who was a cast member on All That from 1994 to 1999, expressed his grief on Instagram, describing Knowings as one of the funniest people out there and stating that she will be missed. Josh Server, another former All That cast member, echoed the sentiment, expressing his heartfelt condolences in response to Thompson's post.
