BTS’ V Reveals He’s Receiving Treatment For Significant Hearing Loss While on Tour

BTS member V disclosed in a live stream on August 12 that he is experiencing significant hearing loss in his right ear while on tour. According to BBC News, the 30-year-old singer has been dealing with the issue for over two years, which has now reached a critical stage. When asked about the severity of his hearing loss, V compared it to a 100-point scale, stating that his left ear is functioning at 100 while his right ear is only at 30.

This revelation comes as BTS embarks on its first world tour in more than four years, following a reunion this year after all members completed their mandatory military service. V explained that the hearing loss worsened during his military service, which began in 2023 and concluded with his discharge in June 2025. Initially, he downplayed the problem, attributing it to "mental strength," but now takes medication and attends regular hospital appointments to manage the condition.

Although a spokesperson for the group could not be reached for more details, it appears V is not alone in facing health challenges during the tour. Bandmate Jung Kook also mentioned a shin injury during the broadcast, expressing concern about developing a stress fracture. He emphasized the need to manage the injury to continue performing.

BTS has just concluded a two-night stand at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium and is set to continue their North American tour with shows in Arlington, Texas' AT&T Stadium on August 15 and 16. The group's American leg will conclude with performances in Toronto (August 22-23) and Chicago (August 27-28) before four final shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on September 1, 2, 5, and 6.

After these North American shows, BTS will venture to South America in October and Asia and Australia in late 2026 and early 2027.
