Autopsy of suspect shot dead for allegedly firing on security personnel conducted

A post-mortem examination, conducted at DHQ Hospital on Tuesday night, determined the cause of death for Mohammad Hussain, the 32-year-old suspect who was killed after allegedly opening fire on security personnel. The body was transported to the hospital by the R.A. Bazaar police on Wednesday. Following the investigation, it was revealed that Hussain was a resident of Khyber district.

Police recovered a political party flag, cap, weapon, and mobile phone from him. In a press briefing, Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership of radicalising the suspect and suggested they could not "wash their hands" of his actions. Chaudhry urged the party to accept responsibility for his conduct, questioning how they could distance themselves from someone they allegedly trained and radicalised.

He also criticized the party for using speeches, social media, and closed-door meetings to propagate "hatred and division." Chaudhry linked Hussain's shooting to PTI's past confrontations, including the May 9 events and the November 26 protests. He dismissed suggestions of mental instability, pointing out the suspect's repeated exposure to the front lines of PTI protests.

Chaudhry accused the party leadership of promoting violence through their rhetoric, stating that attacking a security official is incompatible with serving Pakistan. He warned that the violence witnessed on November 26 could potentially escalate further if PTI continues to expose its workers to divisive ideologies. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and some evidence is being withheld. The minister assured that the probe would be conducted in a "fair and free" manner.
