Acer Googlebook 14 To Feature Intel Panther Lake CPU And 2.8K OLED Display

Details pertaining to an Acer Googlebook 14 have surfaced, indicating the device will boast impressive specifications. According to Bluetooth SIG records, Acer is one of the initial brands to manufacture the book, with its laptop previously surfacing under the codename "Moonstone" during Google's Chromium development phase. However, confirmation from the brand is still pending.

Rumors suggest that this would be the first generation of Googlebooks to be powered by Intel's latest Panther Lake mobile CPU series. Five models have been documented by the Bluetooth SIG database: GP714-91N-50A0, GP714-91N-58Y2, GP714-91N-596Q, GP714-91N-70CH, and GP714-91N-73U1. Among these, one model is reported to be equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 325, 16GB DDR5X RAM, and 256GB storage.

Externally, the Googlebook 14 is expected to feature a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also include a physical Gemini Key, similar to Microsoft's Copilot key but for Google, a Glow Bar near the top of the display, a camera privacy shutter, support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity, a Titan C2 security chip, and an undisclosed Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with up to 47 TOPs of AI performance.

The unreleased Acer Googlebook 14 is priced at €1,125 (~RM5,306), positioning it among the more affordable non-Windows-powered laptops currently available in the market.

Announced a few months ago, the Googlebook represents a reimagined Chromebook, modernized by the integration of Gemini AI. As the device remains under wraps, specifics regarding its launch and transformation of everyday use are still unclear. Notably, there is no definitive launch date announced, nor was the laptop mentioned during Google's recent Made by Google event.
