2027 WWC Playoffs: Banyana will fight hard to beat Super Falcons – Jane

Banyana Banyana captain Refiloe Jane has announced the team's determination to face off against the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the upcoming playoffs. Both South Africa and Nigeria were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, consequently missing out on automatic spots for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The two African nations recently suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of hosts Morocco, whereas the Super Falcons were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Cameroon's Indomitable Lionesses. The inter-confederation playoff match will take place at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca on Thursday night. Refiloe Jane assured that the team will pour their all into the game, stating, "It will be a crucial match for the team, we came here with an objective to qualify for the World Cup.

We would have liked to qualify the first time, but things didn’t go our way." She added, "We keep our heads up high, we have another opportunity to do so, so our focus is on the next match, to try and give it our all to continue on this journey."
