Wärtsilä recognised as the only European company in Wood Mackenzie’s global top 10 BESS integrator ranking

Wärtsilä has been named the sole European participant in Wood Mackenzie's global top 10 BESS integrator list. This distinction underscores the growing significance of proven execution, advanced software capabilities, and comprehensive lifecycle support as battery energy storage systems (BESS) transition into critical infrastructure.

As the energy storage sector enters a new era of expansion, Wood Mackenzie stresses that competition is no longer solely determined by manufacturing capacity, but also by the ability to successfully execute projects across diverse international markets and provide enduring support to customers throughout the asset's entire lifecycle.

Tamara De Gruyter, President of Wärtsilä Energy Storage, emphasizes that customers are now placing greater importance on seamless project delivery, operational performance, and long-term assistance.

Wood Mackenzie's evaluation encompassed ten key factors, such as technology maturity, R&D investments, safety measures, supply chain resilience, ESG performance, and financial robustness. The report underscored execution experience as a critical competitive advantage, pointing out the escalating importance of system design, commissioning expertise, and long-term operational performance as projects grow in scale and intricacy.

Wärtsilä, boasting over a decade of experience in the energy storage domain, has successfully completed projects worldwide. By integrating storage solutions with its GEMS Digital Energy Platform, the company optimizes asset performance across the entire life cycle, enabling customers to enhance revenues, reliability, and adaptability to evolving market demands.
