Video: Cow Dies After Being Hit By Doctor’s Scorpio In UP's Badaun; Angry Mob Assaults Driver

A video has emerged showing a cow trapped beneath a government doctor's Scorpio in Badaun's Myau area, highlighting the incident where the animal died after being hit by the vehicle. The footage displays Dr Rahul Siddharth, Medical Officer In-Charge of the Usawan Community Health Centre, seated in the driver's seat as the cow is pinned underneath the SUV.

Locals are seen trying to lift the car to free the animal, with one moment depicting the vehicle potentially rolling over during the rescue attempt. Following the accident, an angry mob attacked the doctor and damaged his vehicle before local police intervened and rescued him. Villagers accused Siddharth of driving under the influence of alcohol, but a medico-legal examination revealed no alcohol in his system.

Siddharth had been on medical leave since May and returned to duty on Tuesday. After completing his joining formalities before the Chief Medical Officer, he was driving to the Usawan Community Health Centre when the accident occurred near Myau around 2pm. Police stated the cow unexpectedly appeared in front of the vehicle. The injured cow eventually died, but its body was buried without a post-mortem examination, sparking questions about the police's handling of the situation.

A post-mortem could have provided insights into the cause of death and the severity of the injuries. Police have initiated preventive action against four individuals for disturbing the peace. Station House Officer Madhav Singh Bisht mentioned that no complaint has been filed from the doctor at this point. PFA president Vikendra Sharma criticized the actions as one-sided and demanded an impartial investigation into the incident, including the cow's death.
