UCC postpones 2026 Sandwich students’ matriculation indefinitely

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has indefinitely postponed the matriculation ceremony for its 2026 Sandwich students. The ceremony, originally scheduled for August 15, 2026, was called off due to a strike by the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA). The strike has disrupted crucial administrative procedures necessary to execute the event.

UCC's Registrar, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the postponement to the students, their families, and staff. The university assured everyone that a new date will be announced once normal operations resume. This decision affects all 2026 Sandwich students who were to be formally matriculated on the scheduled date.

Management acknowledged the community's cooperation and thanked all stakeholders for their understanding.
