Tinubu, Shettima, Oyedele for CIBN banking conference

President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele are set to participate in the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria’s (CIBN) 19th Annual Banking and Finance Conference, scheduled for September 8-9, 2026 at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The conference, which is considered the largest meeting of banking and financial professionals in Africa, will attract over 10,000 delegates from various sectors including banking executives, regulators, government officials, fintech leaders, and development partners.

The theme of this year’s event is “Building a Resilient Economy in an Era of Disruptions: Strategic Imperatives for the Banking and Financial Services Industry.” This theme is considered highly pertinent given the global economy’s ongoing struggles with technological disruption, geopolitical uncertainties, evolving customer expectations, cybersecurity risks, and climate-related challenges.

The conference’s alignment with the institute’s strategic direction under the administration’s IMPACT vision further emphasizes the importance of resilience, inclusion, membership economy, professionalism, accountability, competencies, and technology.
