There’s plot to arrest Aregbesola ahead of Osun guber poll, ADC alleges

An ex-member of the Osun State House of Assembly has called for peace and responsible political conduct ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, made the appeal during an empowerment programme for informal workers at his campaign office.

Oyintiloye emphasized that the All Progressives Congress remains a peaceful political party and urged stakeholders and public members to promote tolerance and responsible political engagement before, during, and after the election. The empowerment programme, which included informal workers such as barbers, hairdressers, fumigators, welders, textile workers, market vendors, commercial motorcyclists, and members of various professional associations, aimed to support residents and strengthen grassroots participation in governance.

Oyintiloye assured the beneficiaries that their support to the APC would yield meaningful dividends of governance, promising inclusive governance, economic empowerment, skills development, and enhanced opportunities for the informal sector. Community leader Bishop Michael Adewale praised the initiative, emphasizing the need for unity and peaceful conduct before, during, and after the election.

Comrade Tijani Bello, speaking on behalf of the artisans and informal workers, thanked the former governor Gboyega Oyetola's administration for their support.

Oyintiloye concluded by urging residents of Obokun and Osun State to exercise their franchise peacefully, ensuring the election is held in an atmosphere of peace, unity, tolerance, and mutual respect.
