Terroso Moves to Strengthen Nigeria’s Cold Chain Infrastructure

Agriculture subsidiary Terroso Group has joined the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) with the aim of strengthening Nigeria's cold chain infrastructure and reducing post-harvest losses within the agricultural value chain. The collaboration will provide the company with global expertise, industry standards, research and strategic partnerships to develop modern cold storage facilities, temperature-controlled logistics and preservation technologies.

Nigeria currently experiences significant loss of agricultural produce due to insufficient cold chain infrastructure, which negatively impacts food security, farmer incomes, and the agricultural sector's competitiveness.

Terroso Agriculture emphasizes its commitment to investing in cold chain infrastructure, logistics, and agricultural value chains, with the objective of improving food preservation, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and promoting long-term food security in Nigeria and across Africa. The Global Cold Chain Alliance represents companies involved in temperature-controlled warehousing, logistics, and transportation, promoting practices that preserve the quality and safety of perishable products while advancing innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainability in cold chain operations.

Chief Executive Officer of Terroso Group, Opeoluwa Runsewe, stated that the partnership would bolster the company's efforts to strengthen Nigeria's food system through improved cold chain infrastructure.
