Nationalist Representative Seo Bin-soo held a forum in the National Assembly Library to discuss the reinterpretation of the 5·18 democratic movement. This forum was in collaboration with New Era National Movement, which argues that "Guam is the dark power tunnel that splits our nation and leads it back into the path of defeat." Seo Bin-soo is set to present "Freedom Perspective on 5·18 Academics Forum" at the National Assembly Library on the 13th.

New Era National Movement's joint representative, Yeo Eun-hun, will discuss the question: "What is the essence of the Guangzhu spirit?" Pre-release materials reveal that this representative claims, "The history of this country is one of the founding by President Syngman Rhee, the hegemony of Hongyeon, the subjugation of Park Chung-hee, and the creative and constructive process that followed President Chun Doo-hwan."

New Era National Movement's representative insists, "By denying this, former Prime Minister Kim Dae-jung entered politics with a public and ethnic history. The Guam spirit is firmly rooted in the public and ethnic history created by the Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do grievances of the people of Jeolla Province." New Era National Movement asserts that "The liberation of Guangzhu should be the first demand."

They argue that many injuries suffered by citizens during the Guangzhu uprising were due to coincidental factors, and asserting that this constitutes State violence is not justified. They also claim that "The long-term governance of Presidents Syngman Rhee and Park Chung-hee was legitimate."
