Spinal injury forced producer Ramesh Taurani’s daughter out of Bollywood, into a cafe

Raveena Taurani, the daughter of Bollywood producer Ramesh Taurani, found herself away from the glitz and glamour of the film industry after suffering a spinal injury. Despite her family's background in the industry, with her father known for producing films like Ishq Vishk and the Race franchise, Raveena's career as an actor remained elusive.

At the age of 23, a spinal injury during an audition for a dance film changed the trajectory of her life. This unfortunate incident led to her being replaced by an established actor, which only fueled her disappointment as an aspiring actress. Following her injury, Raveena turned to yoga and embarked on a seven-week trip to Goa for recovery.

However, a subsequent stomach infection and subsequent hospitalization prompted her to adopt a plant-based diet. This dietary change led her to complete a course in vegan culinary arts in Bali, which eventually led her to establish Yogisattva Cafe in Bandra. Initially, Raveena offered plant-based meals to fitness enthusiasts, and her creations quickly gained popularity, transforming her newfound passion into a successful career.
