#SHOWBIZ: Patrick Tse laid to rest at Po Fook Hill beside HK icons

Hong Kong actor and filmmaker Patrick Tse, known for his iconic roles and bright smile, has been laid to rest at Po Fook Hill, a famous columbarium in Hong Kong. The veteran actor, who passed away at the age of 89 on July 16, joins other notable Hong Kong celebrities like Leslie Cheung, Lydia Shum, and Roman Tam in the cemetery.

Tse's memorial tablet bears his real name, Tse Ka Yuk, along with his birth and death years, and his birthplace in Guangdong, China. A photo of him rests on the tablet, showing him dressed in a classic black-and-white suit, complete with his trademark sunglasses and a radiant smile.

His children, Jennifer and Nicholas, revealed his passing in separate social media posts on July 20. Jennifer, 43, recalled that her father had passed peacefully in the hospital, surrounded by his loved ones, after battling a period of declining health. She requested privacy for the family during this difficult time. Nicholas, 45, remembered his father as a lifelong showbusiness devotee who brought joy to audiences, even through difficult moments.

He urged fans not to be overly sad while remembering Tse and encouraged them to celebrate his legacy.

Tse's cremation took place at Wo Hop Shek Crematorium on July 20, following a brief ceremony at the hospital. His death prompted heartfelt tributes from numerous celebrities, including Cecilia Cheung, Jackie Chan, Stephen Chow, Charmaine Sheh, and Charlene Choi. Jennifer paid a particularly emotional tribute on Aug 10, marking what would have been her father's 90th birthday.

She expressed her sorrow at saying goodbye to him but assured that he was now happy and free. She ended her message with a touching reference to his signature sunglasses, saying: "Rest peacefully, Daddy. I love you. Always."
