Settlers clash with IDF, block roads in Kusra, West Bank, after army dismantles nearby tent

Dozens of hardline settlers erupted into conflict with the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on Wednesday morning, near Kusra in the northern West Bank, following the army's removal of an encampment in the region. The entire area was designated a closed military zone on Tuesday, after reports emerged of settlers entering and seizing control of Palestinian homes in the Kusra and Jalud locales of the West Bank.

Border Police were swiftly deployed to the scene, and the IDF dispatched additional troops to bolster the area. Eyewitness footage obtained by The Jerusalem Post depicted the extremists dismantling fences, obstructing roads, and encircling the region.

Central Command Chief, Maj.-Gen. Avi Bluth, paid a visit to the site this morning, expressing apprehension over the unfolding events. According to the IDF, Bluth toured the area and its adjacent outposts, engaging in discussions with the Palestinian family residing there. Near their dwelling, a tent was erected within an area where a closed military zone order had been issued, and Israeli civilians were reportedly residing there. Border Police dismantled the tent and are endeavoring to evict the civilians occupying it.

During Bluth's tour, commanders voiced their concerns regarding the actions of the Israeli civilians against the Palestinian family and issued several directives to be implemented in the future, as announced by the IDF. Reports from Army Radio indicate that news of the Kusra outpost's dismantling was leaked to the media prematurely, prompting dozens of Jewish rioters to arrive at the scene before security forces could disperse them.

Settlers have since returned to their outpost, and no arrests have been made as of Wednesday at noon, as reported by Army Radio.
