FX has announced the premiere date for The Lowdown Season 2, which will air on Wednesday, October 14, at 9 p.m. on both FX and Hulu. Ethan Hawke will reprise his role as truthstorian Lee Raybon, now joined by Tommy Lee Jones as his estranged grifter father, Lee Raybon Sr., as well as Betty Gilpin as Ginger, a beautiful and brash public defender dedicated to truth.

Lee's investigation on the life and death of Dale Washberg earns him a local citizen journalist award, but his candid acceptance speech catches Ginger's attention. Their investigation into a client's mysterious disappearance from state prison uncovers power, corruption, and malfeasance among the wealthy elite. Lee teams up with Ginger, alongside Johnny, the new husband of Lee's ex Samantha and co-parent of his teenage daughter Francis, portrayed by Ryan Kiera Armstrong.

As Lee and Ginger delve deeper into the case, it pulls Lee further away from Francis. The story takes an unexpected turn when Lee's estranged father, played by Jones, unexpectedly arrives, much to Lee's surprise.
