Sadurn – “Never Tell Me”

Sadurn returned to prominence this summer with the lead single "Whole Thing" from their upcoming album "The Underworld." The next taste of the album arrives today with the debut of "Never Tell Me," a track that may be familiar to the band's most ardent fans. Sadurn's frontman, G DeGroot, revealed that they have been concluding performances with the six-minute indie-folk power ballad even before the 2022 release of their debut album "Radiator."

DeGroot shared that "Never Tell Me" is one of his favorite songs he's ever written. The six-minute piece emerged in 2021 during a period of personal heartbreak and remained unfinished for another six months. However, the upside was that he was able to co-write the song with the full band, which had just begun playing together. This collaborative approach sets this album apart from "Radiator," where DeGroot had initially penned the songs as an acoustic duo before adapting them for a full band.

They have been performing "Never Tell Me" as an encore to their live sets since before "Radiator" hit the shelves, making it a crowd favorite. The music video for "Never Tell Me" was also a labor of love, with DeGroot investing weeks in creating intricate puppets and staging scenes in a wooded area, later enhanced by green screen technology.

DeGroot and Sarah, along with Enne, brought the peculiar vision of being transported to another realm, inspired by the artist's favorite bizarre characters, to life. "Never Tell Me" will be released on October 16, 2023, on Run For Cover.
