Rogbid’s $70 smart glasses with 39-day battery life sound almost too good to be true

At $69.99, Rogbid’s VisionW smart glasses seem almost too good to be true. The new pair of AI smart glasses boast a 39-day battery life, a feature that immediately catches the eye. However, Rogbid does not clarify whether this impressive battery claim applies to standby time, light usage, or actual everyday operation. The VisionW glasses come with Bluetooth audio capabilities, voice assistants, and interchangeable frames, positioning them as a "3-in-1" product.

The frames come in three styles ranging from chunky Wayfarer to a slim half-rim with clear lenses. While the glasses do offer UV and blue-light protection, they lack a camera, setting them apart from other smart glasses in the market. At present, Rogbid's VisionW is far less expensive than other smart glasses on the market, like Meta's Ray-Ban glasses.

Despite the stripped-back nature of these smart glasses, the combination of an affordable price and approachable hardware might make them more appealing to first-time smart glasses buyers. However, the potential use of these glasses in court proceedings has sparked controversy, with courts in England and Wales banning Meta's smart glasses due to concerns over secret recordings.
