'Rang De Basanti' Campaign: UP Youth Create Graffiti Murals In Lucknow To Showcase State Transformation

Lucknow, August 12 - In an effort to showcase Uttar Pradesh's transformation since 2017, a group of young people in the city have taken it upon themselves to transform public walls into vibrant murals. This initiative, part of the "Rang De Basanti" campaign, was launched ahead of Independence Day, providing a creative outlet for the state's youth.

The campaign, held near Lucknow University, features murals that depict the shift from a mafia-dominated era to one of law and order, improved infrastructure and opportunities for the younger generation. The murals portray a positive change, with artists using their skills to illustrate the development in sectors such as metro systems, road conditions, and overall security.

Young painter Manish Saroj's work encapsulates the pain of previous mafia rule while presenting a hopeful picture of the current state of affairs. Ranjit, a student at Lucknow University, explained that the murals aim to convey the message of Uttar Pradesh's transformation through vibrant colors and artistic expression. Aman Shukla, another participant, emphasized the importance of peaceful protest and dialogue, urging youth to express their views through creative mediums rather than resorting to violence.

The campaign, which spans from August 11 to 14, encourages youth expression through poetry, art, music, and digital means, embodying the spirit of "Brush instead of gun, dialogue instead of fear."
