Probe viral threat video against me, Osun Speaker tells IG

Osun State Speaker Adewale Egbedun has requested an investigation into an alleged threat against his life following a confrontation with the Executive Chairman of Odo Otin Local Government, Adewale Adeyinka, in Okuku. According to Egbedun, Adeyinka was pursued by a three-vehicle convoy and sought refuge at the Okuku Divisional Police Station.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that Egbedun personally intervened, directing Adeyinka to enter the police station. Upon arrival, Egbedun learned that two men had allegedly been apprehended by the public and a firearm was recovered from them. He subsequently handed over the suspects and firearm to the Department of State Services. The Speaker has called for a thorough investigation to determine the identities of those involved, the circumstances of the firearm, the seized ammunition, and the events leading to the confrontation.

Egbedun also urged the Inspector-General of Police to probe a viral threat video against himself and other party members, emphasizing that political differences should not result in violence or intimidation.
