PM: LE450B allocated to “Hayah Karima” projects benefiting 20M citizens

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that the presidential "Hayah Karima" (Decent Life) initiative has allocated over LE 450 billion in funding to completed projects across Egypt, benefiting approximately 20 million citizens. Speaking at a press conference in Gharbiya Governorate, Madbouly highlighted that these projects had been implemented in more than 1,450 villages, representing a significant development effort in the country.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the achievements of the "Hayah Karima" initiative reflect the outcomes of extensive efforts, describing it as "Egypt's project of the 21st century." In Gharbiya Governorate, which has completed all its "Hayah Karima" projects, Madbouly noted that the initiatives have not only focused on infrastructure development but also on improving services such as healthcare, water quality, and education.

Gharbiya is currently finalizing the remaining phases of the initiative, with completion expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The Prime Minister pointed out that the completion of the first phase in Gharbiya has led to substantial improvements, such as increasing the rate of wastewater coverage from 26% in 2014 to 77%. He also highlighted ongoing projects aimed at bringing modern services to villages, including natural gas networks and fiber-optic telecommunications lines.

Madbouly stressed that the government's efforts to improve the quality of life for over 60 million citizens have been met with significant challenges, but the progress achieved demonstrates the magnitude of the project and the dedication of those involved. The "Hayah Karima" initiative has also created substantial employment opportunities, with the unemployment rate falling below 6%.

The Prime Minister highlighted the "Ras El Hekma" medical project in Matrouh and the expansion plans in the governorate, including the construction of new healthcare facilities.

In addition to healthcare, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of tourism as a source of income for Egypt. He noted the growing presence of foreign tourists on the North Coast, which bodes well for the inflow of foreign currency and job opportunities for locals. The Prime Minister also mentioned the development of high-speed railway projects and their potential to enhance connectivity throughout Egypt, further promoting economic growth and job creation.
