[PHOTO] Power supply deal for chip clusters

A power supply agreement was signed on Wednesday in Seoul, aiming to provide electricity to semiconductor industrial complex projects in Yongin and Gwangju. The deal, brokered by KEPCO, will see the company deliver 3 gigawatts of power to the facilities, with plans to increase this capacity to over 6 gigawatts through the construction of additional power plants.

The agreement is part of a larger government initiative launched on June 29, which involves the development of three major megaprojects. The goal is to create a reliable power supply network that aligns with the operational schedules of the factories in the region. Key participants in the signing ceremony included the President of Samsung's Device Solutions division, Gwangju Mayor Min Hyung-bae, Climate Minister Kim Sung-whan, KEPCO CEO Kim Dong-cheol, and SK hynix's President Yeom Seong-jin.
