Pallante silences the Phillies as Pereira’s homer lifts the Cardinals over Phillies 2-0

The Cardinals secured a 2-0 victory thanks to Everson Pereira's powerful homer in the eighth inning. Pereira, who had been claimed off waivers by the Cardinals, hit his fifth homer of the season and first since joining the team, to give the Cardinals a commanding lead.

George Soriano pitched a scoreless inning in relief of Pallante, and Riley O’Brien secured the save with a scoreless ninth inning. Cristopher Sánchez also contributed, striking out seven in six innings. Despite a solid performance from the Cardinals, the Phillies showed resilience, with Winn driving in Jordan Walker and adding to their 10-game hitting streak. The Cardinals will face the Phillies again in Wednesday's series finale.
