Osun Election: Lawmaker gives Fadahunsi 30 days to resign over anti-Accord comments

An Osun State House of Assembly member, Kanmi Ajibola, has demanded that Senator Francis Fadahunsi resign from his position within 30 days over allegations of making threatening comments about the Accord members in the state. Ajibola, representing Oriade State Constituency, threatened legal action if Fadahunsi did not comply. Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, previously denied the allegations, stating that his words were taken out of context.

However, Ajibola's letter, signed by his solicitor Ekene Amadi, accuses Fadahunsi of making threats against opposition members since October 2025 and allegedly threatening to arrest and kill Accord members after the 2026 Osun governorship election. The letter also alleges that between June 1 and August 10, several Accord members were arrested or killed, and on August 11, Fadahunsi directed his supporters to attack Accord members during political activities in Ilesa.

Ajibola, who previously supported Fadahunsi in the 2019 and 2023 elections, claims that the senator's alleged conduct violates his oath of office and that he is unfit to continue representing Osun East in the Senate.
