Osun Election: Bloody moment as Speaker Egbedun allegedly attacks APC Reps candidate, others

In the days leading up to the Osun governorship election, Speaker Adewale Egbedun of the State House of Assembly allegedly targeted the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifelodun, Boripe and Odo-Otin Federal Constituency, Francis Eniade. A photograph circulating on X showed Eniade bleeding profusely, according to reports.

Eniade was allegedly injured alongside several others during the alleged attack, and multiple vehicles reportedly sustained damage. X users claimed, "Speaker Wale Egbedun just attacked Eniade. Dozens were injured, and several cars were destroyed. Where are the so-called neutrals to condemn this?" However, the Osun State Police Command had not confirmed the incident at the time of this report.

Egbedun, who supports the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, had called for the arrest of Senator Francis Fadahunsi and Eniade over allegedly inflammatory remarks. Fadahunsi appeared at the Osun State Police Command on Wednesday regarding the "Kill Accord Party supporters" remarks. Adeleke will face off mainly with APC's Bola Oyebamiji and Social Democratic Party candidate Dr. Francis Ajala, whose name was cleared on Wednesday.
