Noemie Brochant scores a season-high 24 as the Mercury beat the Sparks 94-87

Rookie Noemie Brochant led the Phoenix Mercury to a hard-fought 94-87 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday night, breaking a three-game losing streak. Brochant finished with a season-high 24 points and Alyssa Thomas contributed nine of her 16 points in the fourth quarter. The Mercury closed out a 16-6 run with less than five minutes remaining, fueled by Thomas' layup with 49.6 seconds left, which put the Mercury up 88-84.

DeWanna Bonner sealed the deal by making four straight free throws down the stretch, finishing with 11 points. Phoenix struggled at the start of the game, trailing 81-78 with 4:56 left in the fourth quarter, but their defense tightened up in the fourth quarter, erasing the deficit and securing the win. Dearica Hamby and Rae Burrell each scored 19 points for Los Angeles, who finished the game with 18 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists from Nneka Ogwumike.

Kahleah Copper added 18 points for Phoenix. Guard Kelsey Plum, who was traded from the team just a week prior, did not suit up for the game due to left calf tightness.
