Nene Royal America’s Got Talent bid gets yes from all four judges

Nene Royal, a Thai singer from Phuket, has been granted a spot on America’s Got Talent Live Shows Season 21 after all four judges voted her through in the Judges’ Callbacks round. AGT's official Auditions page confirmed her advancement with the message, "NENE ROYAL is heading to the live shows!" The singer first appeared on the show during the Audition round, where she performed The Cranberries’ "Zombie" with lead guitar.

She secured a callback appearance by wowing the judges once again with Muse’s "Hysteria," singing and playing lead guitar. The judges marveled at her performance, calling her "a real rock star." The popularity of Nene's AGT run has soared on social media, with her following growing by over three million since the episode aired. Her musical journey began at the age of seven, and she has since won multiple contests, including the Outstanding Player award at the 2024 King Power Band Competition.

Nene's progress has garnered support from Thai communities in the United States, particularly in Los Angeles, where fans rally in her favor. The Live Shows quarter-finals will take place over four weeks at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, commencing on August 18-19, followed by additional dates in September. Each week, 11 contestants compete, with public votes determining three contestants to advance and one more selected by a judge’s golden buzzer.

Voting is restricted to US residents aged 16 and over, with a vote limit of 20 per person across the NBC website and app.
