Navi Mumbai Water Crisis: CIDCO Assures Taloja Society Of 3 Lakh Litres Daily Supply, Protest Put On Hold

Navi Mumbai residents of the Anand Sagar Cooperative Housing Society in Taloja Phase 2, Sector 34, have received assurance from CIDCO that they will receive three lakh litres of water daily through pipelines or tankers to address the water shortage in the area. This came after a protest by the residents against the prolonged water scarcity and a threat of a march to the CIDCO office.

A meeting between CIDCO officials and the housing society representatives was held on Monday at Raigad Bhavan to discuss the water shortage. CIDCO issued a written communication on the assurance of daily water supply following the meeting. The administration has also directed officials to carry out a technical survey and inspect the necessary infrastructure improvements.

However, residents reported that the society requires around 5.60 lakh litres of water daily, which is more than the assurance provided. Yogesh Fatangare, the chief promoter of Anand Sagar Society, stated that the society has suspended the agitation for 15 days following the assurance. CIDCO's assurance comes amid growing concern over the water shortage in Taloja Phase 2 and several other housing complexes in the area.
