McSharry takes silver in 100m breaststroke

Mona McSharry secured a silver medal in the women's 100m breaststroke at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. She clocked a time of 1:05.41 to claim the podium finish, adding to the Olympic bronze medal she won in the French capital in 2024. Great Britain's Angharad Evans took gold in 1:04.87, a new Championship record.

McSharry expressed her excitement about standing on the podium, saying, "It's amazing, I honestly don't know if it's really hit me yet." She credited her performance to trusting the process and adjusting from her previous race, stating, "I think again, just kind of trusting the process and adjusting from yesterday, paid off." McSharry appreciated being on the podium with other fast swimmers and having family in attendance to watch her race.
