Leaker: All-Glass 2027 iPhone Still on Track Despite Cancellation Rumors

Recent analyst claims that Apple's all-glass iPhone celebrating its 20th anniversary has been canceled have faced resistance. Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg reporter, has already dismissed these rumors, stating that the glass-centric redesign is still set for release in 2027. A prominent Weibo-based leaker, Digital Chat Station, has also confirmed the device's active development.

The leaker outlines two sizes for the device, both in Pro/Pro Max variants, using the internal codenames V73/V74 mentioned by Gurman. According to supply chain information, both new displays have expanded in size but preserved their original aspect ratio. This is due to Apple's design using a borderless, four-curved-edge approach, which features a flat 2D display covered with glass.

The glass curves around the sides, leaving only a thin metal band at the center. Furthermore, the leaker supports an earlier Digital Chat Station claim about Apple testing a slightly larger 6.96-inch display for the Pro Max variant, indicating that the OLED panel is slightly bigger, but the additional area curves into the device's edges without increasing the overall size.

Jefferies analyst Edison Lee sparked controversy earlier this week by suggesting the rumored all-glass iPhone had been canceled. However, Gurman's refutation and Digital Chat Station's latest report suggest that Lee may have been mistaken, and the radical redesign of the 20th-anniversary iPhone remains in development, scheduled to launch in the fall of 2027.
