KLIA CCTV monitoring to be improved to address blind spots, says home minister

Kuala Lumpur, August 12 — The Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) is planning to enhance the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to address any potential blind spots. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that there are currently 5,000 CCTVs in place at KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, but the monitoring component of the system requires attention as well.

"The issue is not CCTV," he told reporters, "If there are blind spots, we will improve that." AKPS is currently in the second phase of operations, which involves various procurement efforts, including CCTV and other equipment and infrastructure requirements. "It's about equipment and infrastructure, but we also need to consider the people who supervise and monitor these infrastructures," he added.
