JSW Foundation donates 200 CPAP circuit kits to Ballari medical college

The JSW Foundation recently donated 200 continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) circuit kits to the Ballari Medical College and Research Centre (BMCRC), with the aim of enhancing respiratory support for critically ill newborns and bolstering infection-control practices in neonatal care. The donation ceremony took place at the Zilla Panchayat office in Ballari on Tuesday, attended by key stakeholders including Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Md Haris Sumair, JSW Foundation zonal head Peddanna Beedala, and officials from various departments.

The CPAP circuit kits will ensure that newborns requiring respiratory assistance can access individual circuits, thereby improving infection-control measures and reducing the risk of complications. The JSW Foundation emphasizes that each child should have their own dedicated circuit to maintain hygiene and minimize the potential for infection-related issues.

During the event, Ballari District Administration's Mr. Haris Sumair expressed the district's commitment to reducing infant mortality rates (IMR) and maternal mortality rates (MMR). He praised the JSW Foundation for its ongoing support, particularly in providing CPAP circuits and addressing high-risk pregnancies in Sanduru taluk. The initiative falls under the JSW Foundation's broader Health and Nutrition interventions, which aim to strengthen public healthcare services and improve access to quality care for communities.

With the added availability of CPAP circuits, the foundation expects safer and more effective respiratory care for newborns, complementing the efforts of the district administration and healthcare institutions in lowering the IMR in Ballari. JSW Foundation's continued interventions are focused on enhancing neonatal and maternal healthcare services in the region.
