Jaguar offers a first look inside the all-electric Type 01

Jaguar has unveiled the first glimpse of the interior of its all-electric Type 01 model, previously known as the GT. The rebranded vehicle marks the company's first new model since its shift towards an all-electric future. The exterior design remains largely unchanged from the Type 00 concept, which served as the blueprint for the Type 01.

Powered by three electric motors delivering an impressive 735kW, the Type 01 will also be equipped with all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, and a unique twin-valve damper air suspension system. The electric vehicle promises an exceptional driving experience, described as "comfortable as well as engaging".

Inside, the Type 01 retains the central spine from the Type 00, although with a more rounded and brass-finished design. The steering wheel and portrait-style display on the spine have been updated, no longer sharing the dashboard or dashboard within the dashboard as in the Type 00. The dash itself features a flat surface for the passenger side, deviating from the upright appearance of the Type 00.

The horizontal instrument cluster display remains unchanged, maintaining its no-rear-view-mirror design in favor of the ClearSight rear-view display integrated into the base of the windscreen.

The interior ambiance is kept subdued, echoing the minimalist approach seen in the Type 00. Haptic touch-sensitive buttons adorn the steering wheel, while all controls reside within the infotainment binnacle. Jaguar's use of concealed compartments and artisanal textiles adds a touch of luxury, emphasizing the long and dramatic longitudinal design of the Type 01's interior.

According to Jaguar's interior design boss, Thomas Holden, the new model's emphasis on materials, technology, and flowing surfaces aims to redefine the modern luxury automotive interior. The Type 01 will make its global debut in New York on October 6.
