I've been fighting wildfires while I wait for my A-level results

In Wales, A-level results showed a slight increase compared to the previous year, with 10.7% of students achieving top grades of A* or higher. Among the students receiving their results on Thursday was 18-year-old Bobi Jones from Newcastle Emlyn, a firefighter who balanced his firefighting duties with his studies. Bobi expressed feeling quite relaxed about his grades, having been very busy with exams and his work as a firefighter.

Other students, like 18-year-old Rosa MacGowan from Swansea, were thrilled with their results. She achieved two As and three A*s and will be studying medicine at Glasgow University. Rosa felt positive about the future and excited for the opportunities that lay ahead.

William Hopkins, studying a BTec in Uniformed Protective Services alongside his A-levels, aimed to join the Army after results day. He enjoyed his studies but found academic life less appealing, and his goal was to have a bit more life experience before committing to a career.

Caitlin Giffard, also from Swansea, aimed for three Bs in her A-levels and was delighted to achieve As in A drama, criminology, and the Welsh Baccalaureate. She expressed gratitude for the support from loved ones and was ready to embrace the next chapter of her life.
