This practice involves affiliates generating fake clicks and claiming commissions for sales they did not drive, which could potentially result in charges of federal wire fraud.

Phia's business model is centered around a browser extension that aims to provide users with the best deals for clothes and fashion accessories. However, it has been discovered that the company has been misappropriating credit for sales they did not facilitate. This fraudulent activity has led to a significant decline in the company's revenue, with daily earnings dropping from around $80,000 to between $10,000 and $28,000.

While Phia has claimed that the issue was rectified within 24 hours of being reported, some affiliates have severed ties with the company, and others may follow suit. In light of these revelations, Phia is purportedly learning from its mistakes and intends to improve its offering, including a new digital closet feature. Concerns have been raised that eBay, which successfully prosecuted a similar case against affiliate marketer Shawn Hogan in 2008, could take legal action against Phia due to its funding relationship with eBay. Additionally, Etsy may also pursue a lawsuit against the company.
