Inter in advanced talks for Spurs full-back Spence

Inter Milan are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Tottenham Hotspur and England full-back Djed Spence for a fee of at least £25.6 million (30 million euros). The 26-year-old has gained prominence following his strong performance at the 2022 World Cup, where he featured in all eight matches and started in England's semi-final loss to Argentina.

Spence, who joined Tottenham from Middlesbrough for £20 million in 2022, has made 85 appearances for the north London club since his transfer. Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi had expressed his desire for Spence to remain with the club and considers him a crucial component of his plans. Despite De Zerbi's efforts, Spain's World Cup winner Pedro Porro currently occupies the right-back position that Spence prefers.

In the World Cup, Spence played six matches as a left-back and logged 32 appearances on the left for Tottenham last season. Tottenham bolstered their defense by signing Scotland's Andy Robertson from Liverpool in the summer. Fans have shown strong support for retaining Spence, praising his pace, power, and defensive prowess, emphasizing that he would be a valuable asset for the team both defensively and offensively.
