Houthi militia launches fresh ballistic missile attack on Mokha port

Yemeni forces report that Houthi rebels have launched fresh ballistic missile strikes on the port of Mokha, escalating military actions targeting key infrastructure. The attacks, which occurred on Wednesday, involved the firing of two missiles at the port's pier, followed by intensified aerial activity over the city. This comes after a series of drone and missile strikes on the port and surrounding residential areas.

Pakistan has announced that three of its citizens lost their lives in a recent attack in the Red Sea, condemning Houthi actions targeting shipping and critical infrastructure. The Yemeni cabinet convened in the interim capital of Aden on Tuesday to address the ramifications of the recent Houthi military escalation on security, economy, and humanitarian sectors.

The cabinet reviewed assaults on Mokha port, along with other targets in Hadramout, Marib, Al-Dhalea, and Saudi Arabia, stressing that the state will not accept attempts to impose new realities through force.

The Yemeni government has urged the international community to shift its approach from managing the threat to targeting the group's sources of power, particularly Iranian support. They emphasized the necessity of restoring state institutions for achieving lasting peace and safeguarding international navigation. The cabinet reiterated its rejection of treating the attacks as a fait accompli and its refusal to allow new power dynamics to be imposed by force.

They affirmed their commitment to protect citizens, vital facilities, and national interests, and vowed to respond firmly to further developments in line with their constitutional and national duties.
