Harry Potter nerds have forced an undersea cable to be moved to avoid Dobby the house elf's grave, now runs close to Bronze Age remains instead

An undersea power cable connecting the UK National Grid to Ireland has been rerouted after Harry Potter enthusiasts raised concerns about its proximity to Dobby's grave. The fictional character, created by J.K. Rowling, was memorialized in a fan-made shrine next to Freshwater West beach in Wales. Project manager Simon Ludlam revealed that the cable was originally intended to be buried at this location, where the character's death was filmed for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.

After receiving numerous calls from fans, Ludlam was perplexed by the situation, stating, "Dobby? What are you taking about?" Ultimately, Etchea Energy, the company responsible for the cable, enlisted planners to reroute the £430 million project, with the unfortunate consequence of the cable now running near Bronze Age remains.
