Google Brings Ask Maps Feature to Indonesia

Google has rolled out the Ask Maps feature to Indonesian users of its Google Maps service. This AI-based feature aims to enhance daily mobility and travel experiences throughout the country. According to a Google press release, the Gemini AI conversation feature is now available in Indonesian and English, with support for additional local languages to follow in the coming weeks.

The Ask Maps feature is already operational in 150 countries and assists users in exploring various locations and planning travel itineraries. It enables users to craft travel plans, such as organizing a three-hour motorcycle tour through a scenic area or locating a serene cafe for a conversation. Beyond real-time information, the feature leverages Personal Intelligence, which interfaces with a user's Gmail account to grasp preferences based on evidence like hotel reservations or flight tickets.

To commemorate Indonesian Independence Day, Google has launched the "Explore the Archipelago Closer" campaign, encouraging users to uncover new aspects of the country while utilizing the Ask Maps feature. Service users can employ this tool to discover renowned food spots, picturesque alleyways, and cultural landmarks during their vacations.
