Forensic report on National Cathedral is ready, undergoing review – Kwakye Ofosu

Minister of State for Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced that the long-awaited forensic audit report for the National Cathedral is now ready and has been submitted to the Attorney General for review. The Attorney General received the report last Friday and is currently examining its contents to decide the subsequent steps.

The forensic audit was initiated following an earlier audit by Deloitte and Touche, which uncovered financial irregularities but failed to provide a comprehensive overview of the issues or identify those responsible. The authorities decided to conduct a more thorough forensic examination to pinpoint the individuals accountable for the irregularities and to ascertain the legality of the transactions.

It was the Attorney General who authorized the Auditor-General to carry out the forensic audit, which has since been completed. Mr. Kwakye Ofosu stated that he has not personally reviewed the report and therefore cannot comment on its specific findings, as it is not yet the right time to do so. The initial audit had revealed that something had gone wrong, and the forensic audit is expected to clarify the parties responsible.

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu assured that no individual would be spared if the forensic audit uncovers wrongdoing, and the Attorney General will take the appropriate legal action based on the report's findings.
