Everton eyeing Genoa’s Brooke Norton-Cuffy to solve right-back problem

Everton are reportedly considering signing Genoa defender Brooke Norton-Cuffy to address their right-back situation, according to The I Paper. While the Toffees are looking at Alistair Johnston and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Englishman is also on their list of targets. Moyes will be eager to sign a new right-back following Seamus Coleman's departure, with Nathan Patterson having struggled with fitness.

Last season, Jake O'Brien played right-back, but he preferred his natural centre-half position, forcing the club into the transfer market. Norton-Cuffy, 22, performed well in Serie A, scoring two goals and providing an assist in 27 appearances, contributing to two clean sheets. He is a young prospect who can develop into a formidable player.

However, Everton might opt for a more experienced option like Johnson or Wan-Bissaka due to Moyes' preference for seasoned players who understand English football demands. Despite Norton-Cuffy's potential, Moyes may prioritize reliability over potential at this stage.
