Drones hit residential buildings in Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, mayor says

Drone debris has caused damage to six residential buildings in Novorossiysk, a major Black Sea port city in Russia, Mayor Andrei Kravchenko reported on social media platform Telegram. Among the injured, individuals are receiving medical assistance. A commercial building was also struck during the incident. Social media posts, unverified, allegedly displayed images of a large tower of flames originating from an undisclosed location in Novorossiysk.

In the city of Sevastopol, located in Russia-occupied Crimea, over thirty drones were reportedly brought down, with a few houses sustaining minor damage but no reported injuries. Following a separate Russian attack, a fire broke out at a shopping mall in Zaporizhzhia, a southeastern Ukrainian city, Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov informed on Telegram, attaching photos of the burning structure.

The explosion disrupted power supply to approximately 1,200 residents in Zaporizhzhia. Moscow has recently escalated its assaults on Ukraine's agricultural and food sectors, retaliating to Kyiv's strikes on strategic Russian infrastructure, such as energy, port, and logistic hubs. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy disclosed on Tuesday that Kyiv had presented a peace plan to U.S. negotiators to end the ongoing war, which began with Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
